Wulo

Wulo or Wu Lou.

Uses:  longevity and good health. Absorbs negative earth qi.

Shaped like a Calabash or Bottle Gourd Fruit, the Wulo is widely used in Feng Shui. It is known as the “giver of life” for its healing qualities in Chinese Medicine. The Wulo was traditionally by travellers to contain liquid or medicine and was also placed beside the bed of a sick person to cure their illness.

The Wulo is also said to represent the shape of Heaven and Earth and is commonly seen carried by Chinese Deities including Sau Sing Kung from the Fuk Luk Sau and Li T’ieh Kuai from the 8 Immortals. The Budai Buddha is also commonly found carrying this useful accessory!
